Political Tensions Rise Over Z Plus Security for Lalu Prasad Yadavs Family

New Delhi, June 6: Political tensions are escalating regarding the return of Z Plus security for Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and Bihar Assembly Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. Arun Bharti, a Member of Parliament from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has expressed sharp criticism on this matter. He stated that security is adjusted based on threat assessments.

Bharti emphasized that the authority to provide or modify security for any public representative lies solely with the Bihar Police and the Home Department. He noted that security arrangements are reviewed periodically, and adjustments are made according to threat evaluations. Furthermore, Bharti clarified that there is no permanent provision for lifetime security for any public representative; the level of security is determined by circumstances and review reports.

Meanwhile, BJP MLC from Maharashtra, Shrikant Panditrao Bharati, remarked that high-level security like Z Plus is granted under specific rules and established procedures. He explained that decisions regarding security provision or withdrawal are not part of a routine administrative process but are made after thorough analysis of information and intelligence reports from various agencies. According to him, security arrangements are reviewed regularly, and decisions are made accordingly.

Congress leader Naseem Khan expressed concern over the treatment of opposition leaders, stating that it is inappropriate for a democratic system. He accused the central and various state BJP governments of attempting to intimidate and pressure opposition leaders. Khan asserted that sensitive issues like security should not be viewed through a political lens.
