Chirag Paswan Criticizes Bihar Ministers Remarks on Violence, Questions Tejashwi Yadavs Response to Tragedy

Chirag Paswan voices disagreement with Bihar ministers comments on violence, urging accountability from leaders in light of recent tragedies.

Patna, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister Chirag Paswan has expressed strong disagreement with Bihar Minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha’s recent remarks that “murders happen” as part of a broader commentary on violence. Paswan emphasized that ministers, MPs, and legislators bear increased responsibility for any criminal incidents, given their roles in government.

He criticized the notion of downplaying such incidents, asserting that it is inappropriate to trivialize them. During a media interaction, Paswan also targeted Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav regarding the recent boat tragedy in Raghopur. He stated that elected representatives must approach such incidents with humility, ensuring thorough investigations and expressing condolences to affected families. He firmly stated that he does not support irresponsible statements.

As the MP for the Hajipur constituency, Paswan acknowledged his responsibility for incidents occurring in the region. He conveyed his commitment to working towards preventing future tragedies and accepted accountability for any lapses. However, he questioned Yadav’s absence in the aftermath of the Raghopur incident, highlighting that the public who elected him as both MLA and Deputy Chief Minister deserved better attention.

Paswan remarked that if Yadav poses questions to others, he too should be prepared for scrutiny. Yet, he noted that this is not the time for political maneuvering, as families of the deceased are still grieving.

He also expressed sorrow over the recent Durga Puja pandal collapse in West Bengal, offering condolences to the victims’ families and wishing for the swift recovery of the injured. Paswan lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah for canceling his events in light of the tragedy, viewing it as a sign of sensitivity. In contrast, he criticized Rahul Gandhi for holding a gathering following the Chorbagan stampede, suggesting it reflects a lack of empathy from the opposition.

On the matter of foreign nationals protesting on Indian soil, Paswan affirmed the government’s stance, stating that protests by foreigners in India are unacceptable and should not threaten the stability of the nation.
