China Imposes Sanctions on Philippine Defense Minister and Family

Beijing, June 12: The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on June 11 that it has imposed sanctions on Philippine Defense Minister Gilbert Teodoro Jr. and his family.

The spokesperson stated that Teodoro has repeatedly made false statements regarding China, harming its legitimate interests and damaging China-Philippines relations. To safeguard its sovereignty, security, and developmental interests, China has decided to prohibit Teodoro, along with his wife and children, from entering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Additionally, organizations and individuals in China are barred from conducting any business or cooperation with Teodoro and his family.
