China-Europe Railway Express Boosts Global Economy, Survey Reveals

Beijing, March 20: In the first two months of this year, the China-Europe Railway Express operated a total of 3,501 trains, transporting 352,000 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) of goods. This marks a year-on-year increase of 32% and 25%, respectively. These figures are particularly noteworthy given the challenging international conditions and the slow recovery of the global economy.

According to a survey conducted by CGTN, a subsidiary of China Media Group, 88.8% of respondents believe that the China-Europe Railway Express reflects China’s commitment to higher levels of openness and its determination to further liberalize the global economy.

The survey also revealed that 91.2% of participants feel that the China-Europe Express has improved the efficiency of international logistics and reduced the costs of global trade. Furthermore, 91.8% of respondents believe that this initiative has created a new platform for economic and trade cooperation between China and Europe.

Additionally, 82.7% of respondents think that this cargo express has played a stable and motivating role in the global economic recovery. Meanwhile, 93.7% believe it will further highlight the potential of China’s vast market and the underlying strength of the world’s second-largest economy.

Moreover, 85.5% of participants indicated that the stable operation of the China-Europe Express supports the security of existing international trade rules and arrangements. At the same time, 89.5% of respondents called for a joint effort to ensure the accessibility and security of this railway route among the connected countries.
