Beijing, March 18: Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and China’s Foreign Minister, met with Rashid Meredov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan. Meredov is visiting China alongside Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the national leader of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the People’s Council.
Wang Yi emphasized that Berdimuhamedov is a long-time friend of the Chinese people. He noted the strong mutual trust and deep friendship between the leaders of both nations. This relationship is crucial for the stable and continuous development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Turkmenistan.
According to Wang Yi, this visit marks a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between China and Turkmenistan this year. It is anticipated that the leaders will engage in extensive strategic dialogue to deepen their bilateral ties and address global challenges together, leading to the agreement on several important accords.
Meanwhile, Rashid Meredov congratulated China on the successful hosting of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his visit to China. Meredov stated that Turkmenistan supports the four global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and is ready to collaborate with China in the joint preparation for the third China-Central Asia Summit. He also reaffirmed the commitment to enhance cooperation on multilateral platforms to promote regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
