
Raipur, May 4: The Chhattisgarh government has announced a special reward for students who excelled in the 10th and 12th board examinations. These merit students will be treated to a live viewing of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match. On May 10, they will enjoy the game between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. The state’s education department has issued directives to all district education officers regarding this initiative.
In 2026, approximately 321,000 students appeared for the 10th grade board exams in Chhattisgarh, with a pass rate of 77.15%. Among them, 42 students made it to the merit list, including 26 girls. For the 12th grade exams, around 244,000 students participated, achieving an impressive pass rate of 83.04%.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai congratulated all successful students after the results were announced. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the collective efforts of the state’s education system, teachers, and parents. The Chief Minister also stated that this success is not just a personal milestone but a significant step towards the overall development of the state. Additionally, the government has announced rewards ranging from ₹100,000 to ₹150,000 for the top performers under the Talented Student Incentive Scheme.
As of now, a total of 45 matches have been played in the IPL. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) currently lead the points table, winning 6 out of 8 matches. On May 10, two matches are scheduled, with the evening game featuring RCB against the Mumbai Indians in Raipur. RCB is in second place, having won 6 out of 9 matches, while the Mumbai Indians are struggling in ninth place, having lost 7 out of 9 matches. MI will aim to improve their standings with a victory in this crucial match.
