Assam Chief Minister Criticizes Gen Z and Gen Alpha Concepts as Western Imports

Mumbai, August 27: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently commented on the concepts of ‘Gen Z’ and ‘Gen Alpha’, stating that these ideas originate from America and Europe, and have no direct connection to Indian social and cultural frameworks.

During a media interaction in Somnath, CM Sarma emphasized that terms like ‘Gen Z’ or ‘Gen Alpha’ do not apply in India. He remarked that the Indian family structure consists of sons, daughters, parents, and grandparents. He asserted that these Western concepts do not resonate with Indian culture.

Sarma stressed the importance of working for the well-being of children without labeling them under such categories. He encouraged families to live together harmoniously and to tirelessly work for the betterment of their children and the nation.

Regarding his visit to the Somnath temple, Sarma expressed gratitude for the arrangements made by the government during the holy month of Sawan. He highlighted Somnath as one of the major pilgrimage sites in India and expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, it will become one of the world’s leading spiritual destinations.

The Chief Minister also voiced concerns about the recent floods in Nepal, recalling that Assam had experienced similar disasters. He noted that such calamities cause significant distress, leading to loss of life and damage to homes and property. Sarma prayed for the peace and well-being of those affected.

In a critique of the Congress party, Sarma accused it of working against women’s interests. He pointed out that the party has hindered the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code in the country. He emphasized the need for equal laws to ensure women’s rights and urged women to boycott the Congress party.
