Raipur, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : The Chhattisgarh government has announced significant decisions aimed at benefiting youth, government employees, and entrepreneurs.
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, held on September 9, the government approved proposals to raise the maximum age limit for government jobs, promote startups, enhance skill development, and boost export initiatives.
A key decision was to increase the age limit for applying to various government services and higher positions from 38 to 45 years. This new limit will apply to all permanent and temporary state employees, as well as those in corporations, boards, autonomous institutions, contract workers, and city soldiers. The government believes this change will provide more equitable opportunities for career advancement.
To create new employment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and skill development opportunities for the youth, the cabinet also sanctioned the “Chief Minister Startup and Skill Mission.” This initiative will receive a budget of ₹500 crores over the next five years, establishing entrepreneurship development centers in all 33 districts of the state. It will include the creation of 100 emerging technology labs and five industry excellence centers.
Additionally, a “Nipun Job Engine” will be developed to provide skill training and job opportunities tailored to industry needs. The government aims to transform youth from job seekers into job creators.
The cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy for 2026-30, which aims to position the state as a leading export hub in the country. This policy will provide exporters with improved market facilities, a robust logistics network, and access to international markets, with a special focus on promoting the export of value-added agricultural and industrial products.
Furthermore, the cabinet approved the proposal to allocate 10 acres of land free of charge to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for establishing a National Skill Training Institute in Tenduwa village, Naya Raipur. This institute, costing approximately ₹200 crores, will feature modern educational, administrative, and hostel facilities, training around 1,000 long-term and 3,000 short-term trainees annually.
The cabinet also greenlit a land exchange proposal for constructing a new building for the Durg District Court. Under this plan, four hectares of land near BIT College in Titurdih will be provided for the court complex, in exchange for five hectares of government land in Pahanda village, Patan Tehsil, which will be allocated to the Bhilai Steel Plant. The government states that the value of both parcels of land is approximately equal.
The state government believes these decisions will invigorate employment, entrepreneurship, skill development, judicial infrastructure, and economic activities.
