Change is Coming: Rohan Gupta Claims BJP Will Win in West Bengal Elections

Kolkata, April 1: BJP leader Rohan Gupta has asserted that a significant change is imminent in West Bengal, predicting a BJP government in the upcoming assembly elections.

In a conversation in Kolkata, Gupta noted that the Election Commission has decided to conduct voting in two phases this time.

He remarked, “You may have observed how violent the TMC and Left parties used to be, but the Commission has managed to control this to a large extent. However, I believe the TMC understands that they are facing a severe defeat.”

Gupta emphasized that Mamata Banerjee and the TMC are aware of their impending loss. “After losing the elections, they will need an excuse. The politics of appeasement has escalated to the point where they only see it as a way to remain in power, rather than focusing on the development of the people.”

He expressed concern that the politics of appeasement is adversely affecting the rights of the people in West Bengal. “Mamata Banerjee has allowed the construction of a mosque in the name of Babur. The people of West Bengal desire development; they do not want leaders who engage in appeasement politics.”

On the issue of Naxalism, Gupta stated that the government has a straightforward principle: what has been promised will be delivered. “In 2014, PM Modi declared that we would make India Naxal-free in ten years. At that time, Congress Prime Minister Manmohan Singh claimed that the Naxalite problem was even bigger than terrorism. Why couldn’t they do anything? The party that ruled for 60 years failed to act. The BJP government has delivered on its promises.”

Regarding the transfers of officials by the Election Commission before the assembly elections, Gupta said that such transfers are natural. “In Assam, where the BJP is in power, similar actions have been taken. Therefore, we should not view everything through a political lens. I reiterate that after losing, they will find some excuse. They do not trust democracy, yet they speak grandly about the Constitution.”
