New Delhi, March 23: The sixth day of Chaitra Navratri falls on March 24. This day is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Katyayani and also marks the celebration of Yamuna Chhath or Yamuna Jayanti. This festival is particularly celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm in Mathura-Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.

According to tradition, it is believed that on this day, Goddess Yamuna descended to Earth, hence it is also known as Yamuna Jayanti. This festival occurs on the sixth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month. Devotees take a holy dip in the Yamuna River and offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna. They perform rituals at the riverbank, offering Arghya to the Sun and seeking blessings from the river goddess. In Mathura-Vrindavan, devotees typically wear yellow attire, bathe in the Yamuna, and offer fruits and sweets as prasad. In the evening, special aarti and bhajans are held in honor of Goddess Yamuna.

On Tuesday, the sixth tithi will last until 4:07 PM. However, according to Udaya Tithi, the sixth tithi will be observed throughout the day. The Rohini Nakshatra will be present until 7:04 PM.

On the same day, sunrise will occur at 6:21 AM and sunset at 6:34 PM. The Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:46 AM to 5:34 AM. The Abhijit Muhurat will be from 12:03 PM to 12:52 PM, while the Vijay Muhurat will be from 2:30 PM to 3:19 PM. The twilight period, known as Godhuli Muhurat, will be from 6:33 PM to 6:57 PM, and Amrit Kaal will be from 4:06 PM to 5:35 PM.

Notably, the day will also witness the auspicious Dwipushkar Yoga, which will last from 7:04 PM until the following morning at 6:20 AM. Ravi Yoga will be observed from 6:21 AM to 7:04 PM.

Regarding inauspicious timings, Rahu Kaal will be from 3:31 PM to 5:03 PM, Yamagand from 9:24 AM to 10:56 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 12:28 PM to 1:59 PM. Durmuhurt will be from 8:47 AM to 9:36 AM, and Vidal Yoga will be from 6:21 AM to 7:04 PM.
