Mumbai, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : Rakul Preet Singh, a prominent figure in the Hindi film industry, is set to celebrate her 36th birthday on October 10. On this special occasion, we take a look at her personal life and impressive career.

Born on October 10, 1990, in New Delhi to a Punjabi Sikh family, Rakul is the daughter of Rajendra Singh, a former Indian Army officer, and Kulwinder Singh, a homemaker. She also has a younger brother named Amanpreet Singh.

Rakul completed her early education at Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. She later graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi.

Over her career, Rakul has made a name for herself not only in Hindi films but also in Telugu and Tamil cinema. She began her acting journey in 2009 with the Kannada film “Gilli.” Her breakthrough came in 2013 with the Telugu film “Venkatadri Express,” which garnered her significant recognition. Rakul made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with “Yaarian,” followed by notable performances in films like “De De Pyaar De” and “Runway 34.”

With over a decade in the industry, Rakul has appeared in more than 35 films. Some of her most notable works include “Yaarian,” “De De Pyaar De,” “Marjaavaan,” “Runway 34,” “Doctor G,” “Thank God,” “Chhatriwali,” and “Patti Patni Aur Woh.”

Throughout her career, Rakul has received numerous awards for her diverse roles and outstanding performances, including accolades from the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). She has also served as the brand ambassador for the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign in Telangana.

On February 21, 2024, Rakul married filmmaker Jackky Bhagnani in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Goa. The couple publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2021. Before her marriage, she primarily resided in Hyderabad, but she now lives in Mumbai with her husband.

Beyond her acting prowess, Rakul is a fitness enthusiast. She holds a blue belt in karate and has competed as a national-level golfer. Along with her brother Aman, she operates a chain of F45 Training gym studios in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
