New Delhi, March 21: After Saint Louis dominated Georgia with a score of 102-77 on Thursday night, player Cam Hutson stirred the pot ahead of their next matchup against Michigan basketball.
Hutson, whose father, Andre, played for Michigan State, was asked about facing off against his father’s former rival. His response added some extra tension to the rivalry.
“I mean, we take any opponent the same, but for it to be Michigan, I’m definitely going to be excited to play them,” Hutson stated. “I hope we smack the crap out of them worse than we did Georgia. But, it’s an opponent at the end of the day, so we’re going to prepare the same.”
While Hutson’s comments weren’t overly aggressive—after all, every player aims to outperform their opponent—his words have not gone unnoticed. Wolverines star Yaxel Lendeborg responded, indicating that the maize and blue are taking note.
“We’ve seen it,” Lendeborg remarked. “It happened before, with the Colin (White) situation. We’re not gonna say nothing. Just gonna let our game talk and then if we’ve gotta talk about it afterwards, then we will.”
In the game against Georgia, Hutson played only three minutes, failing to score with an 0-for-2 shooting performance.
