Lucknow, June 17: The political landscape of the Brahmin community is once again in the spotlight as Uttar Pradesh gears up for the 2027 assembly elections. Sanjay Nishad, the national president of the Nishad Party and a minister in the Yogi government, responded to the recent meeting called by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav with Brahmin leaders in Lucknow.
Nishad emphasized that the Brahmin community has historically led society and is regarded as a visionary and politically aware group. He stated that the community has always worked towards the establishment, preservation, and reconstruction of Indian culture.
He remarked, “The Brahmin community extends affection to all. Wherever they are invited, they go. However, politically, the Brahmin community stands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and will continue to do so.”
Nishad claimed that the Brahmin community favors the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will not align with forces that have harmed Indian culture. He reiterated that the community has always prioritized the interests of the nation and culture.
Akhilesh Yadav’s meeting with Brahmin leaders in Lucknow is being viewed by political analysts as a strategy for the upcoming elections.
Additionally, in response to allegations by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut regarding the BJP attempting to poach their party members and offering leaders ₹15 crore each, Nishad stated that people engage in politics based on ideology rather than money.
He concluded, “People align with those whose ideology resonates with them. It is easy to make accusations, but proving them is extremely difficult.”
