Booker’s Last-Second 3 Lifts Suns Past NBA-Leading Thunder 108-105

PHOENIX — Devin Booker sank a crucial three-pointer with just 0.7 seconds remaining, handing the Phoenix Suns a 108-105 victory over the NBA-best Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night.

Jordan Goodwin contributed a career-high eight three-pointers on his way to 26 points, while Booker ended a season-long long-range drought with the decisive shot over defender Alex Caruso. Ajay Mitchell’s corner three at the buzzer narrowly missed, which would have forced overtime.

The Thunder’s four-game winning streak came to an end as they dropped to 30-6, still holding the top record in the league. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City with 25 points, supported by Jalen Williams’ 23.

The Suns overcame an 18-point deficit in the second quarter and a late four-point lead loss to secure the win. Dillon Brooks hit a tough three-pointer over Gilgeous-Alexander with 36 seconds left to give Phoenix a 105-101 edge. Chet Holmgren responded with a turnaround jumper, narrowing the gap to 105-103 with 26 seconds remaining.

However, Brooks then committed a turnover, allowing Williams to tie the game at 105 with a step-back jumper with just over eight seconds left.

Booker’s clutch three-pointer erased the late mistakes and sealed the game. He finished with 24 points, while Brooks added 22. Goodwin was a key contributor off the bench, shooting 9-of-16 overall and 8-of-13 from beyond the arc.

Despite trailing 49-31 late in the second quarter, the Suns rallied to lead 71-70 late in the third after Ryan Dunn’s three-pointer, carrying a 74-73 advantage into the final quarter.

The Thunder had started strongly, opening with a 24-9 run while the Suns missed their first eight three-point attempts. Oklahoma City led 49-42 at halftime after Phoenix closed the second quarter with an 11-0 run. Luguentz Dort and Williams both scored 10 points before the break for the Thunder, with Goodwin leading the Suns’ scoring with nine.

Next, the Thunder will host Charlotte on Monday night, while the Suns travel to Houston for their upcoming game.
