Bomb Threats Target Delhi Schools, Security Sweep Underway

New Delhi witnessed multiple bomb threats targeting several schools on Thursday morning, prompting a swift security response. Anonymous calls and emails warning of explosives were received by various institutions, including Amity and Birla Vidya Niketan schools.

Delhi Police confirmed that after receiving these threats, security measures around the affected schools were immediately heightened. A thorough search operation was launched involving anti-sabotage teams, bomb disposal squads, local police units, fire brigade, ambulance services, and PCR teams to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The police appealed to the public to remain calm and vigilant. Following the threats, school premises were evacuated as a precaution. Authorities emphasized that the safety of students, teachers, school employees, and the general public remains their highest priority. All necessary security protocols have been implemented, and the situation is currently under control.

People were urged to report any suspicious activity or information promptly by calling the emergency helpline 112 or contacting the nearest police station.

The bomb threat follows a similar incident on Wednesday when the Dwarka Court complex received an email warning of an explosive device. The court was evacuated, and police and bomb disposal teams conducted investigations. The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax, providing some relief to the authorities.

In recent months, Delhi’s schools, colleges, and government offices have been repeatedly targeted with such false calls and emails. Police cyber units are actively investigating the source of the recent threats using technical means to identify the culprits.

Security agencies have reassured the public to stay alert but not to panic as investigations continue.
