Bloomberg Media Launches Bloomberg India, A New Hub for Premium Business and Market Coverage

New Delhi, August 26: Bloomberg Media announced the official launch of Bloomberg India on Wednesday. This new premium digital news platform is designed for investors, business leaders, and decision-makers, offering in-depth information about India’s economy, markets, and businesses.
Starting August 26, this service will be available on Bloomberg.com and its mobile app, featuring local reporting, market-related information, data-driven analysis, and global reporting from over 3,000 Bloomberg journalists and analysts worldwide.
The launch coincides with Bloomberg’s 30-year presence in India. The company is strengthening its digital footprint in the country, which has now become the second-largest audience market for Bloomberg.com globally.
Bloomberg’s Editor-in-Chief, John Micklethwait, stated that this digital expansion reflects the company’s commitment to covering India’s growth story with the depth and accuracy that its readers require.
He expressed hope that the new platform will become a key resource for investors and business professionals seeking reliable and independent reporting and analysis on global markets and the rapidly changing Indian economy.
The new Bloomberg India homepage will serve as a central hub for market data, analysis, interactive tools, multimedia content, and journalism focused on the Indian business community.
A new market snapshot module will provide users with an overview of domestic stock markets, foreign exchange rates, global benchmarks, and key market fluctuations. Additionally, a dedicated top securities ticker will offer quick insights into major market activities.
Bloomberg India will also expand its premium business coverage through data-driven reporting and analysis tailored to the needs of professionals and retail investors. The platform will feature local guides related to wealth creation, including retirement planning and investment opportunities for those looking to invest ₹1 crore.
Bloomberg’s “10 Asian Companies to Watch” feature will highlight fast-growing companies in Asia, while special coverage of Indian institutions will be included in Bloomberg Businessweek’s “Best Business Schools” list.
Bloomberg is launching exclusive newsletters for Indian readers. The flagship “India Edition” will be authored and curated by Senior Editor Menka Doshi, while “Markets Daily India” will provide crucial market information and significant global events before the start of the Indian business day.
The new platform will enhance Bloomberg’s multimedia offerings through mobile-friendly, video-centric journalism and premium on-demand content. A new podcast titled “Emerging,” co-hosted by Menka Doshi and Bloomberg Television anchor and Editor-at-Large Haslinda Amin, will discuss emerging business and economic trends.
Bloomberg Television’s “Latitude” will feature exclusive interviews with Indian founders. Additionally, award-winning documentaries from Bloomberg Originals will be accessible via the India portal.
The company has also introduced subscription payment options through local cards in Indian Rupees, simplifying the payment process for Indian users. UPI payments are expected to launch in September.
Bloomberg has announced plans to introduce more India-focused services in October, including special coverage of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, which will be held in New Delhi with over 500 global leaders expected to attend. Bloomberg will provide live broadcasts, original programming, analysis, and extensive reporting across its various platforms.
The company will also offer special editions of Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets focused on India, with digital versions available directly to subscribers via the Bloomberg India homepage.
