New Delhi, 29 December. BJP MP Naresh Bansal has responded sharply to PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘Linchistan’ remark, stating that India is among the safest countries in the world.
In a conversation in New Delhi, Bansal said that communal harmony in Kashmir began after the abrogation of Article 370. He recalled the earlier days when the army was insulted, stone-pelting was common, and terrorism was widespread. Today, the situation is largely under control and such incidents are rare. According to him, there is no lynching in the region.
Addressing Pakistan’s claim that India attacked the Noor Khan airbase, Bansal said Rahul Gandhi should learn to trust the Government and the army’s statements. He added that all opposition leaders must apologise. If leaders from Pakistan make such statements, they should apologise to the country and the armed forces.
Regarding RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on a Hindu nation, Bansal said that Bhagwat’s remarks are entirely correct. He described India as a Sanatan and Hindu nation, noting that even before the Constitution, it followed traditions and cultural heritage of a Hindu nation.
Speaking on atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, Bansal called the acts condemnable and questioned the silence of opposition leaders, who have not issued any statements.
On Congress MP Manickam Tagore’s comparison of RSS with Al Qaeda, Bansal said RSS is a patriotic organisation of youth and no incident of violence can be linked to it. He urged understanding RSS properly before making such remarks.
Commenting on Mamata Banerjee’s Durga pandal construction, Bansal said both sides are indulging in appeasement politics, but BJP focuses on satisfaction rather than appeasement. He added that Humayun Kabir is also practising appeasement politics.
Regarding the student murder case in Dehradun, Bansal called it a very tragic incident. He said Dehradun is a major educational hub attracting students from India and abroad, and such events bring shame. The Government is sensitive and is taking strict action under a zero-tolerance policy on criminal incidents. All accused will be punished severely.
