BJP Leader Lahar Singh Siroya Criticizes Congress Leader Pawan Kheras Actions

Bengaluru, April 8: Lahar Singh Siroya, a senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Pawan Khera on Wednesday. He accused Khera of evading legal action by fleeing from Assam police and hiding in Hyderabad.

Khera serves as the chairman of the All India Congress Committee’s media and publicity department and is a member of the Congress Working Committee.

Siroya stated that he is closely monitoring Khera’s activities and described the situation as unfortunate. He claimed that Congress leaders now have very few places left to hide in the country.

He pointed out that it is interesting that Khera does not consider Karnataka a safe haven. Siroya alleged that internal conflicts within the Congress would make it difficult for Khera to find support in the state. He also mentioned that the reasons for these conflicts would soon come to light.

Siroya noted that Khera cannot go to Kerala either, as relations between Congress and its ally CPI(M) are strained, along with ongoing tensions with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Tamil Nadu is also not an option, given the tensions between Congress and DMK over seat-sharing before the assembly elections.

Questioning Congress’s political standing, Siroya asked where the party’s allies remain. He warned that there could be risks in states like Himachal Pradesh. Referring to West Bengal, he suggested that Congress leaders might have to rely on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for support.

The BJP leader accused Congress of losing credibility everywhere. He stated that they no longer have reliable allies or secure political ground. The people of Telangana would not want their state to become a refuge for Congress’s internal problems and controversies.

Siroya also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning why he does not urge Khera to confront the police. He referenced Gandhi’s “Don’t be afraid” message and asked if it applies in this situation. Furthermore, he questioned why Khera did not seek refuge at Rahul Gandhi’s or his family’s residence in Delhi.
