BJP Leader Criticizes Opposition Alliance, Defends Controversial Remarks

Gonda, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former MP, has launched a scathing critique of the opposition alliance led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Speaking in Gonda, Singh described the coalition as unfortunate for the country, alleging that it includes individuals who support Umar Khalid, a controversial figure.

Singh pointed out that since Gandhi assumed leadership, leftist ideologues have encircled him, with some acting as advisors and others as friends. He emphasized that the opposition coalition was formed long ago and includes those who have chanted anti-national slogans.

In addressing recent comments he made regarding caste, Singh recounted a personal incident from his past. He recalled an assassination attempt on his life in Gonda, where police had blocked roads, preventing his family from reaching him. The first person to arrive at the hospital was a man named Lal Kaliya, also known as Yunus, who belongs to the Muslim community and assisted him during this crisis. Singh noted that the assailant was also Muslim, highlighting the complexities of his experiences.

He shared that after the attack, a vigil was maintained throughout the night to ensure his safety before he was brought home. Singh’s life experiences, he stated, have significantly shaped his views.

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Pratik Bhushan Singh commented on the Uttar Pradesh elections, declaring that the tenure of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marks a golden era in the state’s politics. He attributed the BJP’s positive public image to Adityanath’s strict governance, which has been reflected in crime statistics recorded by the National Crime Records Bureau. Singh asserted that the party’s approach to law and order serves as a model for the entire country.
