Empowering Women: CM Yogi Adityanath Celebrates Shakti on Navratri
CM Yogi Adityanath highlights womens empowerment and progress in Uttar Pradesh during Navratri celebrations.

Lucknow, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the auspicious occasion of Ashtami during Sharadiya Navratri by worshipping the form of Maa Mahagauri. He described the goddess as a symbol of peace, purity, and compassion. In a post on his social media account, the Chief Minister emphasized that true societal advancement is only achievable when every mother is healthy and safe, every daughter receives nourishment and a brighter future, and every woman lives with dignity and independence. He noted that the lives of women are now illuminated by safety, respect, strength, and prosperity.
Adityanath praised the efforts of the Double Engine government, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in making women an active partner in the state’s development. He pointed out the expansion of opportunities in security, respect, nourishment, education, and economic self-reliance for women. The Chief Minister also criticized the previous government’s failures, stating that before 2017, the nutritional systems for children were struggling under the grip of mafias. Since the establishment of the Double Engine government, the responsibility for the production and distribution of take-home rations has been entrusted to women’s self-help groups, ensuring transparency and paving the way for women’s economic independence.
This initiative has not only strengthened nutritional services in the state but has also made the fight against malnutrition more effective. The Chief Minister highlighted the increase in honorariums for Anganwadi workers, raising their pay from ₹3,000 to ₹12,000 per month. Health insurance benefits are also being provided to support their health, safety, and social welfare.
Today, more than 400,000 women across 31 districts are involved in milk production through dairy companies like Balini, Samarthya, Kashi, Baba Gorakhnath, and Srijani. This engagement has turned dairy production into a powerful avenue for income, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance, strengthening the rural economy. The BC Sakhi initiative in every gram panchayat plays a vital role in promoting women’s independence and expanding financial inclusion in rural areas.
The Chief Minister noted that over 12 million women in the state are writing a new chapter of self-reliance by joining self-help groups. Through the Lakhsapati Didi initiative, women are transforming their hard work and skills into regular income and economic prosperity, ensuring happiness for their families. With the blessings of Maa Mahagauri, women’s lives in the state are now illuminated by safety, respect, strength, and prosperity. A strong woman leads to a prosperous Uttar Pradesh.
