BJP Launches 10-Day March Against Karnataka Government

New Delhi, September 1: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to commence a 10-day march against the Congress government in Karnataka starting Tuesday. This march will continue until September 10 and will cover nine assembly constituencies.

Former minister and BJP leader B. Shriramulu announced the details during the unveiling of the march’s logo at the party’s state office, Jagannath Bhavan, in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The march will kick off with a large public gathering in Lingasugur and conclude in Ballari on September 10. The inauguration event will feature several prominent leaders, including Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashoka, and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.

The BJP has been consistently targeting Congress over alleged irregularities in the Valmiki Corporation and political issues related to former minister B. Nagendra.

The march will traverse through nine assembly constituencies: Lingasugur, Maski, Sindhanur, Karatagi, Gangavati, Kampli, Sandur, Ballari Rural, and Ballari City.

B. Shriramulu stated that the BJP has fought for B. Nagendra’s resignation both inside and outside the assembly. He expressed gratitude to B.Y. Vijayendra, opposition leaders, and legislators for raising this issue.

He claimed that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had also acknowledged irregularities in the Valmiki Corporation.

B. Shriramulu alleged that ₹87 crore was transferred, and the corporation’s funds were misused across various districts to defeat the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections.

He also targeted Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, suggesting that while he could have defended B. Nagendra, he chose not to. Shriramulu accused the Chief Minister of deciding that Nagendra should resign under opposition pressure.

Additionally, he accused B. Nagendra of hypocrisy, stating that while Nagendra labels BJP leaders as ‘Manuvadis,’ it was BJP leaders, including Janardhan Reddy, who supported him during the 2013 elections.

Shriramulu referenced the death of tribal welfare corporation officer Chandrashekar, alleging that the officer committed suicide following threats and harassment related to this case.

He claimed that Nagendra was appointed minister after receiving a ‘suitcase’ and questioned the legitimacy of that arrangement now. Shriramulu also raised concerns about the removal of Dalit leader K.N. Rajanna from the cabinet, asking why Nagendra is now shedding ‘crocodile tears’ for Dalits.
