Ahmedabad, August 4: BJP leader Rohan Gupta stated on Monday that the entire nation is closely monitoring the developments surrounding the paper leak case in Jharkhand. He claimed that this situation has revealed the true nature of the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Cockroach People’s Party (CJP).
Gupta alleged that citizens and students across the country are observing their “selective activism.” He emphasized that the nation is focused on the events in Jharkhand, which are exposing the realities of these political parties.
In an interview with a news agency, Gupta remarked, “While they are active in politics in Delhi, I want to ask Congress, AAP, and CJP: Is Jharkhand not part of the country? Do students in Jharkhand not have rights? This clearly indicates their political motives. If your intentions were genuine, you would go to Jharkhand, protest there, and demand accountability, but you have not done so. The people and students of the country are watching your selective activism.”
He accused several political parties of failing to address student-related issues since independence. Gupta noted that most parties have done very little for students and have not introduced strong laws to prevent paper leaks.
He stated, “Wherever they are in power, they remain silent on student issues.” He cited Karnataka and Telangana as examples where similar paper leak incidents were met with silence.
Gupta further pointed out that in Kerala, students faced police action, and now a similar silence is evident in Jharkhand. “They remain quiet on all these issues, proving that their primary concern is politics, not students,” he added.
Commenting on Congress, Gupta claimed that internal power struggles often begin even before a government is formed. He said, “Wherever Congress is in power, the fight for power-sharing starts before they even come to power. This was seen in Punjab in the past, and it’s one reason people have rejected Congress.”
He also criticized the party for being driven by internal factions and disconnected from ground realities. “For their leaders, power and the benefits that come with it are more important, while public interest issues are sidelined. This was once again evident in Punjab.”
Gupta accused Congress of hypocrisy regarding women’s issues, stating, “This is the reality of Congress. They make grand claims about women’s rights and empowerment in Parliament, but wherever they are in power, women face injustice, which is why people do not trust Congress.” He stressed the clear disparity between their words and actions.
He concluded by stating, “On the other hand, the NDA government led by the BJP has consistently been committed to the development and empowerment of women.”
