Agartala, March 4: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence on Wednesday that the complete development of the tribal community is one of the primary goals of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
While addressing an organizational program at the headquarters of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in Khumulwng, the Chief Minister assured that the BJP would achieve a significant victory in the upcoming elections for the tribal autonomous bodies and village committees.
Saha stated that the BJP aims to form a government in the 30-member TTAADC, claiming that trust and confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party have been steadily increasing among the people.
Earlier in the day, a large procession led by the Chief Minister passed through various streets of Khumulwng, featuring a significant number of party workers and supporters.
Referring to the upcoming TTAADC elections, Saha mentioned that a major rally named ‘Tribal Empowerment and Tripura Empowerment’ was organized in Khumulwng to garner support.
He highlighted that since taking office in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has prioritized the development of tribal communities across the nation. “In the coming days, only the BJP can ensure the genuine development of tribal people. We are fully committed to working for their welfare,” he stated.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that for the current situation in the TTAADC to change, the BJP needs the full support of the people. He alleged that the tribal community has long witnessed “hollow promises,” asserting that the BJP is now delivering tangible development on the ground. Saha expressed hope that the party would secure a decisive mandate in the upcoming TTAADC and village committee elections, which he described as a crucial constitutional institution.
