Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayees Forgotten Film Releases in Theaters After 38 Years

Mumbai, March 14: The Indian English-language television film “In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones,” originally released in 1989, has made a comeback to theaters. The Heritage Foundation has presented the film in 4K quality. The cast includes Arjun Raina, Arundhati Roy (in the role of Radha), and Roshan Seth, while Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayee have small yet significant roles.

Television actress Himani Shivpuri shared her thoughts on Instagram after watching the film. She posted pictures from the theater and wrote, “What a fun evening! I watched the film where Annie performed, at INOX Nariman Point. It brought back memories of the old days, and meeting the cast after so many years was truly special. Thank you, Pradeep and Arundhati, for giving us such a wonderful film. Also, thanks to Shivendra Singh and Shiv for restoring and reviving it so beautifully.”

She added, “This film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and had its theatrical release on March 13, exactly 38 years later. It features all our theater artists from Delhi.”

The actress reminisced, “When I first met Shah Rukh Khan, he told me, ‘Ma’am, I worked as a junior artist in the film where you were the heroine.’ Yes, Shah Rukh plays a character in the film. It was great to meet everyone, including Lovleen, Raghubir Yadav, Khalid, Pradeep, Arundhati, and Deepika.”

The cult classic Indian TV film “In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones” was released in 1989. Written by Arundhati Roy and directed by Pradeep Krishen, the film portrays the struggles, idealism, and fun of architecture students in their final year during the 1970s in Delhi. Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayee played small but pivotal roles early in their careers.
