BJP Announces Candidates for Rajya Sabha Elections 2026, Including Tarun Chugh

New Delhi, June 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha biennial elections in 2026, as well as for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Odisha.

The party’s central election committee has approved the selection of candidates from various states. This list features both seasoned leaders and fresh faces.

According to the list released by the BJP, Tai Tagak has been nominated as the Rajya Sabha candidate from Arunachal Pradesh.

In Gujarat, the party has placed its trust in four candidates: Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, Mansingh Parmar, and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanjaria.

From Madhya Pradesh, the BJP has nominated national-level leaders Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agarwal for the Rajya Sabha elections. The inclusion of Tarun Chugh, who serves as the party’s General Secretary, has sparked significant discussion in political circles.

In Manipur, A. Sharda Devi has been declared the candidate. This decision is seen as crucial for strengthening the party’s organization in the northeastern states.

From Rajasthan, the BJP has decided to send two prominent leaders to the Rajya Sabha. The party has confirmed the names of Dr. Alka Gurjar and Dr. Satish Poonia, the latter being a long-standing and influential figure in Rajasthan’s politics.

Additionally, for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Odisha, the BJP has nominated Debashish Samantaray.

This list is considered highly significant for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. The BJP has carefully selected candidates with regional balance, organizational experience, and political equations in mind.
