Bhopal, May 21: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced that the biography of Emperor Vikramaditya will be included in the state’s school curriculum. Additionally, a special book on Lord Krishna’s teacher, Sandipani, will also be developed.
During a review of the school education department, CM Yadav stated that the landscape of schools in Madhya Pradesh will undergo significant transformation in the coming days. Schools will not only gain respect but will also produce students who contribute to the development and expansion of institutions. The upcoming syllabus will now include the biography of Emperor Vikramaditya, and an engaging book on the life of Sandipani will be prepared. Students will also receive vocational training in schools.
The Chief Minister emphasized that to make Madhya Pradesh developed and self-reliant, the government is laying a strong foundation by providing education in modern schools like Sandipani Vidyalaya. Ensuring timely access to excellent educational facilities and resources for every student in the state is our top priority. He urged for expedited departmental activities and that all arrangements be completed before the academic session starts on June 16.
He instructed officials to ensure all arrangements for quality education in the state. To improve examination results, he directed an increase in educational quality, regular monitoring, and the adoption of technology and innovation-based teaching methods.
CM Yadav announced that schools achieving a 100% pass rate will be publicly honored. The meeting revealed that 26 schools in the state have achieved this milestone, with all students passing their exams.
He also proposed that vocational training be provided in schools. High school and higher secondary classes will include studies in agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery, and other employment-oriented courses. If possible, regional self-help groups should be connected with these schools and students. A plan should be developed on how to integrate AI skills into classes 8 to 12. Social service activities like NCC and NSS should also be promoted in schools.
He mentioned that efforts should be made to provide health check-ups, driving license camps, and coaching for major competitive exams. CM Yadav stated that there should be tracking of what government school graduates are engaged in after completing their 12th grade, such as higher education, employment, agricultural work, family business, or skill training. This will help the government create a database of our youth.
The Secretary of School Education reported that the government’s efforts to increase enrollment in government schools have shown very positive results. There has been a 32.4% increase in enrollment in class 1 for the academic year 2025-26 compared to 2024-25. Additionally, enrollment in classes 9 to 12 has increased by 4.25%, the highest compared to previous years.
