Bihar Police Undergoes Major Administrative Reshuffle, Seven IPS Officers Transferred

Patna, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Bihar government’s Home Department has initiated a significant reshuffle within the police administration, resulting in the transfer of seven IPS officers. A notification detailing these changes has been issued, assigning new responsibilities to several senior officials while also altering additional charges for some.

Among the notable appointments, IPS officer Ratna Sanjay from the 1998 batch has been designated as the Additional Director General (Law and Order) for Bihar in Patna. He will also oversee the positions of Additional Director General for Prohibition and the State Narcotics Control Bureau.

Additionally, IPS officer Kase Suhita Anupam, also from the 1998 batch, has been appointed as the Additional Director General for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, within the Crime Investigation Department of Bihar.

Kiran Kumar Gaurav Jadhav, an IPS officer from the 2016 batch, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Arwal. Meanwhile, Navjot Simi, an IPS officer from the 2018 batch, will take on the role of Superintendent of Police for the Crime Investigation Department in Bihar.

Chandra Prakash, from the 2019 batch, has been assigned as the Deputy Superintendent of Police for the Patna Municipal Police. Mamta Kalyani, an officer from the Bihar Police Service, has been appointed as the Commandant for Bihar Special Armed Police-10 in Patna.

Furthermore, Nirmal Kumar Azad, currently serving as the Director General of Police (Training) in Bihar, has been relieved of his additional responsibilities related to the Directorate of Prohibition and the State Narcotics Control Bureau.

This decision by the Home Department is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing the effectiveness of the police system in the state and improving coordination in administrative functions. The transfers and new appointments were made following the approval of the Governor.

The most prominent appointment is considered to be that of IPS officer Ratna Sanjay, who has returned to Bihar after a long central deputation. He is now set to lead the law and order efforts as the Additional Director General.
