Patna, March 2: Amid escalating conflict in Gulf countries, the Bihar government has taken significant steps to ensure the safety of its migrant workers. The Department of Labour Resources and Migrant Worker Welfare has launched a dedicated helpline from the Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi to assist individuals working in these regions.
The special helpline number 7217788114 was announced by Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labour Resources Department, to provide timely support to Bihar’s expatriates and their families.
While introducing the helpline, Deepak Anand stated, “The Bihar government is fully committed to the safety of its citizens and workers.” He emphasized that this initiative was established in light of the current tensions in the Middle East, ensuring that no migrant from Bihar feels isolated during a crisis.
He clarified that migrant workers can reach out via this helpline for any information, assistance, or resolution of issues. The department’s team will monitor the situation 24/7 and coordinate with relevant agencies for prompt action when necessary.
Deepak Anand also mentioned that the government prioritizes the safety, dignity, and welfare of Bihar’s workers abroad. He urged families to utilize this helpline if any member working in Gulf countries faces difficulties.
The government believes that such initiatives not only provide security assurance but also strengthen the trust between migrant workers and their families. The Bihar government has assured that all necessary measures will be taken to reach every needy migrant worker.
