Bihar BJP Celebrates Constitutional Victory as Notice Against Chief Election Commissioner is Dismissed

Patna, April 7: The Bihar BJP has dismissed the opposition’s attempt to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar as misguided. Party leaders have hailed the decision as a victory for constitutional integrity, questioning the motives of the opposition.

Bihar Minister Ramkripal Yadav welcomed the rejection of the notice from opposition MPs demanding the removal of Gyanesh Kumar by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. He emphasized that the Election Commission is a constitutional body that cannot be removed on mere requests.

Yadav stated, “There is a defined process for removing the Election Commission, the Chief Election Commissioner, or Supreme Court judges. Just because the opposition’s interests are not being met, they want decisions in their favor, but that is not possible.” He also supported the Supreme Court’s decision not to intervene in this matter and to dismiss the appeal.

The minister accused the opposition of trying to exert unnecessary pressure on constitutional institutions. He stressed the importance of maintaining the dignity of these institutions in a democracy, suggesting that such demands appear to be politically motivated.

During his remarks in Patna, Yadav praised the central government’s policies and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He asserted that the Prime Minister is fully committed to his promises and is making significant decisions in the national interest. He described the government’s commitment to issues like the Uniform Civil Code and women’s reservations as historic.

Additionally, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi highlighted the achievements of the central government and the Prime Minister. He recalled the Pokhran nuclear tests under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, noting that it established India as a formidable nuclear power on the global stage.

Sarawagi mentioned that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India’s global reputation continues to rise. He referred to the Prime Minister’s address on the occasion of the BJP’s 47th foundation day, emphasizing that issues like “One Nation, One Election” and the UCC are essential for the unity and development of the country.
