Agra, June 19: At the inaugural BRICS MSME Forum and the third SME Working Group meeting held in Agra, beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme showcased their traditional arts and crafts. The event featured stalls set up by these beneficiaries to display their work.
Beneficiary Sunny Swami shared, “I am involved in leather work, specifically creating leather toys. I have been in this field for the past ten years. After registering under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, we received training on using toolkits, as all products are handmade. The toolkit provided has greatly benefited us. Since joining the Vishwakarma Scheme, we have gained access to a robust online platform to further our work. This initiative has significantly improved our business.”
Another beneficiary, Abdul Khader, mentioned, “We make wooden toys in Channapatna, located 60 kilometers from Bengaluru. Under the Vishwakarma Scheme, we received a toolkit and loans, along with valuable experience in creating various types of toys.”
Alim Jadoopatia, a beneficiary and Dokra artist, stated, “I have been associated with PM Vishwakarma for a year and a half, and it has been incredibly beneficial. Since I joined and received training under this scheme, it has positively impacted my work. I also received a toolkit through PM Vishwakarma. We even showcased our products at Delhi Haat.”
He added, “Events like these should invite us, as they help expand our market. I received a loan of one lakh rupees from the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which has played a crucial role in the changes in my life.”
Pooja Jhariya, a soft stone sculpture artist, noted, “I learned about the scheme through social media. After gathering all the information, I filled out the application form, which led to my training. I received a loan of one lakh rupees in the first phase of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which has been instrumental in advancing my business.”
She emphasized the importance of such events, stating, “Being invited to programs like this greatly benefits us. Products made by hand, which were once limited to local markets, are now gaining recognition in other cities.”
