CM Yogi Adityanath Celebrates Vijayadashami with Rituals at Gorakhnath Temple

On Vijayadashami, CM Yogi Adityanath performed rituals at Gorakhnath Temple, praying for the welfare of the state and its people.

Gorakhpur, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted elaborate rituals at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. He honored the revered Guru Gorakhnath, a significant figure in the Nath tradition, while praying for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Uttar Pradesh.

The special ceremonies at Gorakhnath Temple lasted over two hours, filled with the sounds of Vedic chants, conch shells, and traditional instruments like the damru and turahi. The rituals commenced at the temple’s Shakti Peeth, following a series of prayers dedicated to the divine feminine during the ongoing Sharadiya Navratri.

After the ceremonial worship and prayers for public welfare, CM Yogi, accompanied by the temple’s chief priest, Yogi Kamalnath, and other saints, proceeded to the main shrine of Guru Gorakhnath. There, he performed a distinctive ritual in line with Nath practices, offering barley sprouts grown at the Shakti Peeth altar.

Yogi Adityanath also participated in the ceremonial aarti and served with a chaurava (fan) to express his devotion. Following the worship of Guru Gorakhnath, he conducted rituals for the eternal flame, various deities, and the sacred sites within the temple complex, including the akhand dhuna (eternal fire) and Bhim Sarovar.

During the ceremonies, the Chief Minister paid homage to the memorials of revered Nath saints, including his own Gurudev, Brahmleen Mahant Avedyanath Maharaj, and others. He bowed before their statues, performed rituals, and sought their blessings. The temple resonated with the sounds of traditional instruments, creating a vibrant atmosphere of faith and celebration.

In addition to the temple rituals, CM Yogi also engaged in go-puja, reverently feeding and caring for the cows at the temple’s gaushala. He offered jaggery to the cows and showed affection to the livestock before feeding fish in Bhim Sarovar.

On this significant day, the Gorakhnath Peethadhishwar expressed his hopes for a peaceful and prosperous life for the people of the state. The traditional rituals at Gorakhnath Temple showcased the essence of Nath’s religious customs, the guru-disciple tradition, and a commitment to public welfare.
