Baba Ramdev Advocates for One Nation, One Election to Strengthen Education System

Haridwar, August 24: Yoga guru Swami Ramdev has strongly endorsed the ‘One Nation, One Election‘ initiative, stating that frequent elections hinder both national development and the education system. He emphasized that simultaneous elections across the country would save teachers’ time, allowing them to focus entirely on students’ education.

In Haridwar, Swami Ramdev pointed out that elections occur in various states every few months, keeping the nation in a constant electoral mode. This ongoing cycle adversely affects development plans and administrative efficiency.

He stated, “Implementing ‘One Nation, One Election’ will improve the education system, as a significant number of teachers are assigned election duties. If elections are held simultaneously, teachers will have more time, enhancing the quality of education.”

Swami Ramdev noted that the spiritual community unanimously supports this initiative, as national interest should transcend party politics. He insisted that national welfare should not be compromised for political gain.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India, he expressed, “The Prime Minister has committed to a developed India by 2047, but I hope we can achieve this by 2040.”

Regarding the UGC and reservation movements, Swami Ramdev criticized those attempting to hold democracy hostage through protests in the streets and parliament. He remarked, “Some believe they can disrupt democracy through chaos, but democracy cannot be held hostage. The nation will function through democratic processes. If someone aspires to be Prime Minister, they must be elected by the people.”

On the Vande Mataram controversy, he responded that those lacking knowledge of Sanskrit and Indian culture misrepresent the issue. He stated, “For us, Mother India is paramount. Those unfamiliar with Sanskrit and culture should seek to learn about India and its traditions.”
