Ayush Ministry Advises Practitioners to Embrace Mindful Yoga for Progress

New Delhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Ayush Ministry has issued essential guidance for yoga practitioners, urging them to approach their practice with mindfulness and patience. In a recent post on the social media platform X, the ministry highlighted that yoga should always be performed with awareness.

The ministry stated, “Practice with awareness and proceed with patience. A mindful yoga practice begins with respect and consciousness towards your body. Move slowly, breathe naturally, avoid stress, and practice within your limits.”

Additionally, the ministry emphasized adhering to the recommended guidelines during practice and concluding sessions with meditation, silence, intention, or chanting.

To further assist practitioners, the ministry released a list of key considerations for mindful yoga. This includes starting yoga with a prayer, progressing gently and consciously, and breathing naturally through the nose. Practitioners are advised to avoid holding their breath unless instructed.

It is also crucial to prevent any jerking, straining, or undue pressure on the body. Following the rules for each practice and concluding with meditation, silence, intention, or chanting is encouraged. Regularity and patience in practice are essential.

Mindful yoga has been shown to have a profound and positive impact on both physical and mental health. By focusing on awareness and breathing, levels of stress hormones like cortisol decrease, promoting a calmer mind. Cultivating the habit of living in the present moment enhances mental clarity and strengthens focus. This practice fosters emotional softness and improves self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
