Ayodhyas Laxman Path Project Gains Momentum, Target Completion by October 2026

Ayodhya, June 7: The construction of the Laxman Path in Ayodhya, costing ₹1,500 crores, is progressing rapidly. Approximately 70% of the 6.70-kilometer four-lane road has been completed, as reported by Ayodhya Commissioner Rajesh Kumar on Saturday.

The project’s aim is to enhance traffic flow and provide an alternative route for pilgrims and locals. It is scheduled for completion by October 2026.

In an interview with a news agency, Commissioner Rajesh Kumar mentioned that preparations for tree plantation are underway. The goal is to plant trees along the city’s roads, particularly on Ram Path and Dharm Path, as well as the 14-kosi and Panch-kosi circumambulation routes.

He noted that the construction of roads has led to a reduction in trees, prompting the desire to plant shade trees along the roadside. The Forest Department has been instructed to collaborate with the Public Works Department to beautify the central median with shade trees. Additionally, there is a shortage of trees on Ram Path, causing discomfort for pedestrians during hot weather. This year, plans are in place to plant around 800 saplings along Ram Path, with a broader tree plantation initiative set for the city.

Commissioner Rajesh Kumar stated, “The Laxman Path in Ayodhya is being constructed from Guptar Ghat to Naya Ghat. This four-lane road will provide an alternative route to reach the Shri Ram Temple and other temples in Ayodhya. The soil filling work is nearly complete, and our target is to finish it by October. Laxman Path will connect to the 14-kosi circumambulation route, creating a separate route through the 14-kosi and Panch-kosi paths.”
