New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The industry body ASSOCHAM expressed its support on September 11 for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to transform BRICS into a more influential platform for global cooperation and a strong voice for the Global South.
Nirmal K. Minda, the president of ASSOCHAM, highlighted that Modi’s approach, which emphasizes resilience, innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development, will provide new direction for economic partnerships among BRICS nations. This, he noted, will further solidify the group’s role in the evolving global economic landscape.
Minda emphasized the significance of Modi’s vision to translate BRICS cooperation into tangible business outcomes. By fostering trade, investment, technology, startups, and industry partnerships among member countries, new opportunities for inclusive and sustainable economic growth can emerge.
ASSOCHAM also welcomed the Prime Minister’s focus on strengthening supply chains among BRICS nations, reducing trade barriers, and creating new opportunities for businesses, startups, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He pointed out that initiatives such as innovation, digital solutions, infrastructure, strategic technologies, and the ‘BRICS Startup Innovation Fund’ will enhance collaboration among member countries and assist Indian enterprises in expanding globally.
Minda noted that ASSOCHAM supports the Prime Minister’s call for measurable outcomes each year. This includes creating a roadmap to eliminate the top 10 business obstacles, facilitating the expansion of BRICS startups into member markets, and establishing 1,000 new business partnerships.
He concluded that these concrete goals will provide a robust business dimension to BRICS cooperation, transforming the group’s economic potential into real opportunities for industries, investors, and entrepreneurs.
