Udalguri, May 20: The Majbat Railway Station in Assam’s Udalguri district has undergone a significant transformation under the Amrit Bharat Railway Station Scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate this station, which boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, improved passenger amenities, digital services, and an attractive design. Passengers are already enjoying enhanced facilities, creating a joyful atmosphere among travelers.
One passenger shared, “A new building, entrance, and platform have been constructed at Majbat Railway Station. New trains will also stop here. The station has seen considerable development compared to before.”
Another traveler remarked, “The station has improved significantly. There weren’t many facilities earlier, but now there are plenty. There’s a water pump, and everything else is fine. It has developed much more than before.”
A student noted, “With the station’s redevelopment, there are now more seating arrangements than before. Clean drinking water filters have been installed. Fans and other amenities are also provided much better than previously. Cleanliness at the station has improved significantly.”
A shopkeeper at the station mentioned, “A weekly train has been introduced that runs from Dibrugarh to Deoghar. However, our most important demand regarding Kamrup remains unfulfilled. Most trains stop here for barely a minute.”
He added, “We run a canteen here, and it becomes difficult to manage the rent because passengers often don’t have enough time to buy even a bottle of water. Still, conditions have improved a lot compared to before.”
Another individual commented, “The station looks beautiful and has become quite modern. Facilities have improved from all sides. There are lights, lifts, and every kind of amenity available. It now resembles an airport.”
