Weather Update: Rain Expected in Delhi-NCR This Week

New Delhi, August 28: The recent shift in the monsoon trough’s position has noticeably impacted the weather in Delhi and the entire NCR region. Over the past 24 hours, the weather has changed dramatically, with heavy rainfall recorded in several areas. According to the Meteorological Department, this trend will continue today (August 28), with light to moderate rain expected across most parts of NCR.

Throughout this week, fluctuations in weather conditions are anticipated, with continuous cloud movement. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh forecast indicating that today, the maximum temperature in Delhi will reach 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be around 26 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are expected to be 80 percent in the morning and 65 percent in the evening.

The weather department states that the sky will generally be overcast today, with moderate rainfall possible. Although no alerts have been issued, residents are advised to remain vigilant. Looking ahead, a slight improvement in weather is expected on August 29 and 30, with maximum temperatures of 36 degrees and minimums of 26 degrees Celsius. However, the intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease, leading to a “partially cloudy sky.”

The weather department has confirmed that there are no warnings for heavy rainfall during these two days. On the last day of the month, August 31, humidity levels are expected to rise again. Temperatures will range from 36 degrees to 26 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels projected to reach between 85 and 70 percent. The sky will remain partially cloudy, and no alerts will be issued.

As September begins, a slight dip in temperatures may occur. On September 1 and 2, maximum temperatures are forecasted to be around 34 degrees, with minimums of 25 degrees Celsius, and the sky will remain cloudy. The weather department has also stated that there are no severe warnings for rain during these days.

Meteorological experts indicate that the northward shift of the monsoon trough has resulted in increased moisture levels, leading to cloud formation. However, the rainfall is expected to be neither heavy nor prolonged, providing some relief from the humid heat.
