
Dibrugarh, May 13: A devastating fire early Tuesday morning in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh destroyed a family’s hut, causing significant financial loss. Fortunately, the Assam Rifles swiftly intervened, providing immediate relief materials to the affected family.
The incident occurred near the BSNL office in Changlang, where a local resident’s bamboo hut was engulfed in flames around 4 AM. The fire spread rapidly, incinerating all belongings and essential documents within the home. Initial estimates suggest that the damage amounts to approximately ₹150,000.
Sources indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. Thankfully, all four family members managed to escape unharmed, with no reports of injuries.

Upon receiving news of the incident, the battalion team sprang into action, delivering relief supplies to the affected family around 1 PM the same day.
