Guwahati, March 27: Assam Minister Piyush Hazarika asserted on Thursday that the Congress party will never regain power in the state. He made this statement while campaigning for NDA candidate Tapan Das in the Dimoria assembly constituency.
Addressing several election rallies in his constituency, Hazarika claimed that the people of Assam have lost faith in Congress due to its past governance and alleged policies.
He stated, “The Congress government will never return to power. The people have witnessed their rule and have completely rejected them.”
The senior BJP leader further accused Congress of providing shelter to “illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.” He noted that this claim has intensified public anger towards the party.
Hazarika emphasized that protecting the rights of indigenous people has always been a priority for the BJP-led government in the state.
He expressed full confidence in the electoral prospects of NDA candidate Tapan Das, predicting a “massive victory” for him in Dimoria.
“The overwhelming support we are receiving in these rallies clearly indicates that Tapan Das will win by a large margin,” he added.
The minister also highlighted the popularity of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, claiming that women voters across the state fully support his leadership.
On Thursday, Hazarika participated in three different election rallies in Dimoria, where a large crowd gathered to support him.
He urged voters to choose Das to strengthen the NDA alliance, promising continuous development and stability in the region.
Tapan Das, who was present during these campaign events, thanked voters for their support and reiterated his commitment to addressing local issues and accelerating development in Dimoria.
