New Delhi, June 1: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister of Labour and Employment, as well as Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday. The meeting took place in New Delhi and focused on improving welfare measures for workers and strengthening sports infrastructure in the state.
The discussion lasted over an hour at the minister’s official residence. It aimed at expanding Assam’s sports ecosystem and creating a conducive environment for workers and laborers.
Following the meeting, CM Sarma highlighted the guiding philosophy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), termed ‘Seva First,’ on the social media platform X. He expressed gratitude to Minister Mandaviya for dedicating time on his birthday to discuss various issues related to the development of sports infrastructure in Assam and the welfare of the labor force.
According to Sarma, the discussions were centered on enhancing sports infrastructure across Assam, creating better opportunities for athletes, and ensuring advanced welfare mechanisms for workers. He also extended birthday wishes to Mandaviya and requested continued support from the central government for Assam’s efforts to emerge as a prominent sports destination in the country.
Sarma stated, “On this special day, I wished him well and requested his ongoing support in our endeavor to make Assam the sports hub of India.”
This meeting is significant as the Assam government is continuously investing in sports infrastructure and has hosted several national and international sporting events in recent years.
