Arunachal Pradesh Governor Boosts Morale at Remote Border Post

Itanagar, April 9: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), visited the remote border post ‘Khenjemane’ near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang district on Thursday. During his visit, he encouraged soldiers to maintain high morale, stay physically fit, and remain mentally alert, especially given the challenging conditions in forward areas.

An official from Lok Bhawan stated that this border post, located in difficult terrain and harsh weather, symbolizes India’s vigilance and resilience. The Governor’s visit was seen as a strong sign of solidarity with the forces protecting the nation’s borders.

Continuing to connect with soldiers deployed in border areas, the Governor interacted with personnel from the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), appreciating their unwavering dedication and sacrifices.

Leveraging his extensive military experience, Lieutenant General Parnaik engaged with the soldiers on a personal level, listening to their concerns and gaining insights into their daily challenges. He also inquired about their overall well-being, including their ability to stay connected with their families despite being stationed in remote areas.

While boosting the soldiers’ morale, the Governor emphasized the importance of maintaining high spirits, physical fitness, and continuous mental alertness, particularly in such challenging operational environments. He stressed that the strength of mind and body, combined with discipline and unity, is crucial for ensuring operational readiness and safeguarding national security.

Highlighting the significance of civil-military harmony, the Governor advised the forces to maintain close and amicable relationships with local communities. He underscored that the trust and support of people living in border areas are invaluable for effective operations.

Recalling lessons from the 1962 India-China war, he reminded the soldiers that local communities stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces during tough times, providing crucial assistance and guidance in navigating difficult terrains.

During this visit, Brigadier Bhupal Singh, Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade, accompanied the Governor.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant General Neeraj Shukla, met with the Governor and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Tawang on Thursday. The discussion focused on various aspects of civil-military coordination, as well as ongoing and future development initiatives in the state’s border areas.

A defense spokesperson noted that there was an emphasis on strengthening coordination between the armed forces and civil administration to enhance infrastructure, connectivity, and socio-economic development in remote areas.

Both the Governor and Chief Minister praised the Indian Army’s continuous efforts and unwavering commitment to improving the living standards of local communities in Arunachal Pradesh’s remote regions. They also acknowledged the Army’s crucial role in advancing the ‘Vibrant Village Program’ and integrating border villages into the broader national development framework.

This dialogue reaffirmed the shared commitment to ensuring security, development, and inclusive growth in the strategically important border areas of the state.
