New Delhi, May 3: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu acknowledged the continuous support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government in strengthening infrastructure development across the state.
While inaugurating the newly constructed Arunachal Niwas in Dheerpur, New Delhi, the Chief Minister revealed that the state has received approximately ₹4,900 crores under the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. These funds will be utilized to address critical infrastructure gaps and accelerate development initiatives.
The inauguration of Arunachal Niwas marks a significant achievement in the state government’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure for citizens traveling outside the state. With this facility, Arunachal Pradesh now boasts its fourth property in the national capital, reflecting the government’s sustained focus on building supportive infrastructure over the past decade.
Similar facilities have been developed in key locations such as Guwahati, Tezpur, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh (all in Assam), Bodh Gaya, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, aimed at providing housing and essential services to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister congratulated all stakeholders involved in the project and emphasized the importance of such institutions in ensuring comfort and assistance for citizens, particularly patients seeking medical treatment and students visiting Delhi for educational purposes.
He noted that the new Arunachal Niwas includes special arrangements for patients, offering significant benefits to those in need of medical assistance in the capital.
Highlighting its strategic location near the northern campus area, Khandu stated that this facility will serve as a vital resource for Arunachal Pradesh students during university admissions, providing them with a safe and accessible place to stay.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, the Chief Minister announced a comprehensive review of newly formed districts such as Pakke-Kesang, Kamle, Lepa-Rada, Shi-Yomi, and others to assess infrastructure deficiencies and human resource needs.
He further mentioned that similar reviews will be conducted for older districts to ensure balanced and inclusive development across the state.
Emphasizing efficient management, the Chief Minister advised exploring avenues for sustainable revenue generation to ensure long-term operational viability.
