Mumbai, June 12: Renowned actor Anoop Soni has carved a special place in the hearts of audiences with his exceptional performances. On Friday, he shared how his friend Divya Dutta played a pivotal role in his entry into the Punjabi film industry.
The actor posted a clip from the Punjabi film ‘Desh Hoya Pardes’ on Instagram, featuring his close friend Divya Dutta. In the video, he explained, “The actor initially chosen for this role had an accident just days before shooting began. My friend Divya Dutta, who was already part of the film, suggested my name, and director Manoj Punj trusted her recommendation. A few days later, I found myself on set in Chandigarh, where I portrayed a greedy and morally corrupt police officer. This role was completely different from any I had played before.”
He continued, “The scene I’m sharing today is with Divya. It is quite serious, uncomfortable, and filled with emotions. This film allowed me to share the screen with the legendary Gurdas Maan. His simplicity and humility left a profound impact on me. Working alongside Juhi Chawla and a fantastic cast made the experience unforgettable.”
