Mumbai, March 7: Amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel-America, social activist Anna Hazare has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged that India should take the initiative for peace in light of rising global tensions.
In his letter, Hazare stated, “The world is currently facing extremely concerning circumstances. The escalating tensions and conflicts between various countries are making life unsafe for ordinary citizens. Recent reports of the impact on innocent women, children, and families are deeply saddening and painful. India’s culture has always been one of non-violence and peace. Our nation has consistently sought to show the world the path of dialogue and tranquility. At such a time, it is crucial for a large democratic nation like India to convey a message of humanity and peace.”
He continued, “Today, the world needs trust and dialogue, not weapons. War only leads to destruction, while dialogue paves the way for solutions and stability. Therefore, I humbly request that India plays a neutral and responsible role in promoting peace and dialogue on a global scale.”
In his letter to Prime Minister Modi, Hazare emphasized, “Under your leadership, India has played a positive role on various global issues. Therefore, if India steps forward for humanity and peace during this sensitive time, it will be inspiring for the entire world. It is my humble expectation that India should advance the path of peace for the welfare of humanity and the safety of innocent citizens.”
Notably, tensions in the Middle East have escalated over the past week. Israel and the United States have jointly attacked Tehran, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking leaders and military officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has launched missiles at U.S. bases in several countries across the Middle East. The conflict continues even after a week.
