Opposition MPs Challenge Government Over LPG Crisis, BJP Responds Firmly

New Delhi, March 13: Central Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has assured that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders, petrol, or diesel in the country. His statement follows discussions between Prime Minister Modi and the President of Iran. Opposition MPs have reacted strongly to his claims.

SP MP Ramgopal Yadav criticized the government, stating that the situation is dire across the nation, including in Etawah. He questioned the credibility of the government, suggesting they are unashamedly spreading falsehoods. “May God bless this country,” he added.

Another SP MP, Dharmendra Yadav, emphasized that long queues are forming nationwide. He urged the Petroleum Minister to ensure the safety of his officials, as images and videos from various regions depict the LPG crisis. “I can responsibly say that the situation regarding the LPG crisis is extremely severe across the country,” he stated.

Rajeev Rai, also from the Samajwadi Party, attacked the government, claiming that the long lines of people waiting for gas are not fabricated. He accused the central government of being intoxicated by power and invited officials to witness the reality in his constituency.

RJD MP Sanjay Yadav remarked that people are lining up outside gas agencies. He asserted that without the government acknowledging the problem, a solution cannot be found. The queues are growing, and black market activities are on the rise, he noted.

CPI MP P. Santosh Kumar highlighted a significant gas shortage across the country, questioning the sudden emergence of this crisis. He suggested that it could be due to conflicts or rampant black marketing. He expressed skepticism that the Petroleum Minister’s statements would resolve the issue.

In response, BJP MP Damodar Das Agrawal stated that the government has clarified that there are sufficient reserves of petrol and diesel. He assured that the situation would normalize soon but condemned the opposition for inciting chaos.

BJP MP Bhola Singh recalled that before 2014, people often faced difficulties obtaining gas cylinders, leading to black market purchases. He mentioned the Ujjwala scheme, which provided free cylinders to 10 crore families.

BJP MP Shashank Mani Tripathi defended the Petroleum Minister’s responsible remarks, labeling the crisis as a global issue affecting everyone. He criticized the opposition for inciting public unrest instead of seeking solutions.

BJP MP Ravi Kishan accused opposition parties of spreading rumors, asserting that the central government is fully committed to resolving the crisis.
