Anil Rajbhar Criticizes Samajwadi Party Over Reservation Issues in Varanasi

Varanasi, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar has launched a sharp critique of the Samajwadi Party (SP) regarding the issue of reservations for backward communities. Speaking in Varanasi, Rajbhar alleged that during SP’s previous tenures, the rights of backward classes were largely overlooked, favoring certain specific groups instead.

Rajbhar emphasized that while the SP now raises the topic of reservations, it failed to protect the interests of various communities, including Rajbhar, Chauhan-Noniya, Nishad-Kewat-Mallah, Maurya, Gond-Kharwar, Vishwakarma, and Prajapati, during its four terms in power.

He stated, “It is astonishing that those who have exploited reservations are now talking about them.” Rajbhar also accused the SP leadership of misleading backward and Dalit communities, asserting that these groups have become aware of the party’s true intentions and will no longer be deceived.

The minister further criticized the previous SP government for incidents of damage to statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar between 2012 and 2017, claiming that those responsible received protection from the then-government. Rajbhar expressed concerns that there might be attempts to damage Ambedkar’s statues and related parks again, urging the public to remain vigilant.

Additionally, he questioned the SP’s stance on providing reservations in promotions for Dalits, recalling the party’s opposition to the proposal. Rajbhar also highlighted the issue of renaming districts that honor Dalit leaders, suggesting that the SP is raising reservation issues in anticipation of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The minister concluded that both backward and Dalit communities have recognized the SP’s policies and mindset.
