Amaravati, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Andhra Pradesh‘s HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh announced on Thursday that no DJ vehicles should be seized during the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations. He shared on social media that he received messages indicating police were denying permission for DJ vehicles during the festivities.
Lokesh urged Home Minister V. Anita and Police Chief Harish Kumar Gupta to ensure that permissions are granted smoothly. He emphasized that not a single DJ vehicle should be confiscated.
Responding to Lokesh’s post, Home Minister Anita confirmed that she had issued necessary directives to the police department. This was to ensure that DJ permissions for Ganesh Visarjan are granted according to established guidelines. She stated, “The spirit of celebration should remain intact and not contradict Hindu beliefs.”
Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh government is providing free electricity to Ganesh pandals across the state. The Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation (APCPDCL) announced on September 10 that free electricity supply would be extended to pandals. This service will be available for nine days, from September 14 to September 22, with 3 kilowatts for rural areas and 5 kilowatts for urban areas.
These orders were issued following the decision of the NDA government led by the Telugu Desam Party. APCPDCL instructed superintending engineers and operation circles to provide free electricity supply to all authorized applicants and organizers of Ganesh pandals. They were also asked to take necessary actions and collect applications in the required format. Furthermore, they must submit a statement of the total amount to the Chief General Manager/Finance/Corporate Office/APCPDCL without delay.
The announcement of free electricity came just a day after Lokesh stated that all Ganesh pandals would receive this benefit during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. He expressed his happiness on social media, saying, “I am pleased to announce that this Ganesh Chaturthi, all Ganesh pandals across Andhra Pradesh will receive free electricity. This is a significant initiative from our (TDP) government to support communities celebrating across the state and to enhance the festivities.”
