Amaravati, August 9: Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has called for the preservation of tribal traditions and cultural identity. On the occasion of International Tribal Day, he emphasized the invaluable contributions of tribal communities to our society, culture, and heritage.
He stated, “Their rich traditions, cultural identity, and traditional knowledge must be preserved. Additionally, we must ensure their rights, dignity, equal opportunities, and inclusive development.”
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended heartfelt greetings to all tribal brothers and sisters on International Tribal Day. He remarked that tribal culture, traditions, and their unique lifestyle connected to forests and nature are a source of pride for society. The government aims to improve education, health, and employment for indigenous people and is committed to their holistic development.
The Chief Minister added, “The government is continuously working to enhance the self-respect, self-reliance, and progress of tribal communities.”
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, in his message for International Tribal Day, noted that tribal communities are eternal guardians of forests, protectors of ancient knowledge, and the living spirit of India’s rich cultural heritage.
Pawan Kalyan remarked, “Forests have safeguarded our tribal communities for generations, and in return, they have protected the forests as guardians of nature, culture, and ancient wisdom. On International Tribal Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all tribal brothers and sisters.”
He highlighted this year’s theme, “Honoring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being,” reminding us of the crucial role tribal women and communities play in preserving invaluable traditional knowledge related to life, health, culture, and heritage. His personal connection with tribal communities has always strengthened his resolve to work for their respect and welfare.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated, “Initiatives like ‘Adavi Thalli Bata’ aim to improve connectivity, livelihood opportunities, and better protection of forests and wildlife in remote areas. We are working to ensure that development reaches every tribal family while safeguarding their identity and traditions. Their trust is a responsibility. Their heritage is our pride. Their progress is our commitment. Let us all move towards a future where every tribal family can live with dignity, opportunity, security, and hope.”
