Mumbai, August 20: Actress Amrita Bagchi is currently seen portraying Alka Ahuja, the wife of Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, in the web series “Operation White Sea: The Untold Story of the Kargil War.” In a recent conversation, she expressed her admiration for fellow actress Dia Mirza, highlighting her compassionate nature, which is evident in her performances.
Dia Mirza plays the role of Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa, the wife of Wing Commander B.S. Dhanoa, in the series. Bagchi shared her experience of working alongside Mirza, stating, “Whenever you perform a scene with Dia, she is fully immersed in the emotions of that moment. It becomes about reacting to what she is doing.”
The series also features actor Siddharth as Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, who is married to Amrita Bagchi’s character. Bagchi noted that working with Siddharth is seamless because he does not believe in hierarchy, making collaboration easier.
Discussing Siddharth’s perspective on storytelling, she remarked, “His priority is always the scene. What are we achieving in this scene? What is the topic of the story? Why is this scene important? Once you understand these aspects, you prioritize the scene and work together. He does not place himself at the center of attention; instead, he focuses on the director and everyone else.”
Bagchi added, “Whenever I tried something new, if he felt he could enhance the scene or the wrap, he would elevate it to another level immediately. That is his specialty.”
Directed by Oni Sen, “Operation White Sea: The Untold Story of the Kargil War” narrates the true saga of the Indian Air Force’s historic and challenging aerial operations during the Kargil War of 1999. The series has been streaming on Netflix since August 7.
