Mumbai, June 26: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a note emphasizing the power of work in alleviating life’s worries. He encouraged everyone to maintain focus and keep moving forward.
In his blog, the actor wrote, “Today’s work is done, and now it’s time to work on oneself. When you are engaged in work, it takes care of all the concerns that may arise. When work stops, everything else halts too. Keep it going. Love.”
Earlier, on June 22, Bachchan mentioned spending time watching a World War II documentary narrated by Hollywood star Tom Hanks. He reflected on the futility of war, stating, “I watched a documentary on World War II narrated by Tom Hanks and felt the senselessness of war. Millions of innocent lives were lost, but for what? Often due to the whims and arrogance of a single individual… and what was the outcome?”
He added, “Weapons, war machinery, brutal killings, and beliefs that have no place in a peaceful world… AI showcases all of this. The struggle from the attack on Poland in 1939 to the end of the war and the beginning of the nuclear age emphasizes not just strategies and leaders but also the suffering of common soldiers and civilians.”
Bachchan noted that the idea of the futility of war comes from observing and understanding many aspects. He stated, “Millions were killed, yet almost every country involved believed they were acting out of necessity. Cities were destroyed, populations displaced, and entire communities wiped out. Even the victors faced heavy losses and trauma. This war ended one atrocity but left the world to confront new tensions, including the Cold War and nuclear weapons. It also showcases acts of courage, but all amidst immense human tragedy. Serious documentaries on World War II often reveal that while war may sometimes be unavoidable, it is never glorious from the perspective of those who endure it.”
On the work front, even at over 80 years of age, he remains active. He is currently working on the sequel to the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ directed by Nag Ashwin. This film is a grand mythological science-fiction project featuring Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
The first part of this film is set in a dystopian future of the city of Kashi in the year 2898 AD. The story revolves around a group on a mission to protect the unborn child of lab subject SUM-80, believed to be Kalki, the final avatar of Vishnu.
